Masquerade II: Chameleon

Masquerade
The Last Chorus

Red, white, blue, green, red again
And now it's red forever, is it a gain?
Hidden in shadows
Watching the rats glow
If it's for the rats, is it worth the pain
A lifelong red to persist even after rain?

A phony parade
The spectators are nothing but rats
A lonely parade
All their sparkling shoes and hats
We asked ourselves
'Are clothed rats treated as man?'
They are but ourselves

If all of us are but rat-clothed man
Should a man-clothed rat be man?
It was a graveyard
For the rats who simply tried too hard
All failed to be seen
Although they glowed bright and green

Red, green, red, green, red again
Such miserable passengers of this train
Stop, move, stop, move, stop again
A daily occurrence, just like our leg sprains
Marching and parading will be our banes
A line so straight; never to leave our lanes

It's the end, take it off
Take the damned mask off
Walk away with your skin peeled off
Before you shrivel and dry off
